What this advanced Python course covers

This advanced Python course opens on a Flask web application and closes on pandas, and neither half depends on the other. That is unusual and useful: whichever of those two roads you came for, the other is included, and you can take them in either order.

The web half runs routes and templates, sessions, forms and SQLAlchemy into a full-stack build with a login system and a real database behind it. The data half covers recursion, complexity analysis and the sorting algorithms, then NumPy and a long module on pandas ending in real charts. Both assume you already write Python without a tutorial open, at the level of the Certificate in Python Programming.

  • Python you can already write without a tutorial open: loops, functions, collections, files and classes. None of it is re-taught.
  • Python 3.10 or later, a free editor and a terminal you are comfortable using.
  • A virtual environment for the Flask work, so one project’s packages cannot break another’s.
  • A dataset you actually care about for the pandas half. The lessons supply their own, and your own data makes it stick.

Common questions about the advanced Python course

What do I need to know before an advanced Python course?

Python you can write from an empty file: loops, functions, collections, files and classes, at the level of the Certificate in Python Programming. None of that is re-taught here. If you have only ever written Python with a tutorial open beside you, do the first certificate first. It is in the same subscription.

Which projects will I build in this course?

Two substantial ones, plus the sorting implementations. The first is a hand-built front-end page. The second is a full-stack Flask application with a login system, product routes, validated forms and a database behind it. That second project is a genuine portfolio piece, because it is the shape most real web applications actually take.

Does it teach Django as well as Flask?

Flask only. Flask is the smaller framework and it keeps the request-to-response path visible, which is the thing worth seeing first. Django hides more of it behind conventions, which is excellent once you know what is being hidden and confusing before then. Flask first is the right order, and Django is far easier afterward.

Can I skip the web half and go straight to pandas?

Yes, and plenty of people should. The two halves share a language and very little else, and the algorithms module opens on recursion assuming only Python. Starting there is a completely legitimate way to take this course. The certificate requires finishing everything, but the order in which you work is up to you.

Is the NumPy and pandas here enough for data science?

It is the groundwork rather than the whole job. You load, filter, group, reshape and merge real data and chart it with Seaborn, which is most of what a working data analyst does daily. Machine learning is the next step beyond this, and it is very hard to do without exactly these skills first.

Is this a Python bootcamp?
