Questions people ask about Business & Productivity
Which Excel course should I start with?
Start with Introduction to Microsoft Excel if the formula bar is unfamiliar, and Certificate in Microsoft Excel if SUM, IF and VLOOKUP are already comfortable. The introduction opens at what a cell is and assumes nothing. The certificate picks up at the function library and runs through lookups, PivotTables and dashboards. Certificate in Excel Data Analysis is the third course, and it expects both of the others first.
Do I need Microsoft 365 for the Excel and PowerPoint courses?
No, though a recent version helps in places. A free spreadsheet program will carry you through most of the introduction course, at the cost of translating some ribbon paths. Dynamic arrays, XLOOKUP, Power Query and Power Pivot are the exceptions, and they want a recent Windows build. Check before buying anything, because work or school often supplies both applications already.
Should I use Notion, Airtable or Monday.com?
Monday.com for a working board with the least setup, Notion when the notes for a project should sit beside its tracking, Airtable when the same record has to appear in several tables without being retyped. All three courses are in the subscription, so trying one and switching costs nothing. If a plain task list would do the job, use a plain task list. Fifteen tasks with one owner do not need a database.
Can a freelancing course get me work on Fiverr or Upwork?
It can make your profile and your offer competent. It cannot promise that anyone hires you, and neither course pretends otherwise: both are explicit that the first few orders are the hard part and can take months. They teach the mechanics of one platform, not a skill to sell. If you do not yet have work someone would pay for, take a course in that skill first.
