Introduction to Instagram

A profile that says nothing is why nobody follows.

This Instagram marketing course covers the four parts of building an audience: what your profile says, how the content gets made, how strangers find it, and what the account can be worth.

Overview

What this Instagram course covers

Building an audience has four parts, and this Instagram marketing course takes them in the order they actually matter: what the profile says, how the content gets made, how strangers find it, and what the account can be worth once it exists. Most advice starts at the third one, which is why most advice does not work.

You write a bio that tells a visitor what they get rather than what you enjoy, build a profile picture that reads at thumbnail size, then make an image post, a carousel and a reel as build-alongs rather than demonstrations. Ten organic growth strategies follow, with the instruction to pick three you can sustain, then Instagram SEO and Insights. One lesson covers what accounts earn, with no figures promised, because nobody can honestly promise them.

Requirements

Course requirements

  • The Instagram app, updated, on a phone. Most of this course happens on one.
  • A free design account for three of the content lessons, though any design tool you already use will do.
  • A business or creator account before the Insights lesson, since Insights does not exist on a personal account.
  • Something to post about. The course teaches packaging and growth, and it cannot decide your subject for you.

FAQ

Common questions about the Instagram course

Is this Instagram marketing course good for beginners?

Yes. It opens with a full tour of the app so nothing later feels unfamiliar, then builds a profile from scratch. No marketing background is assumed anywhere. It is also short, which makes it a realistic thing to finish rather than a course you start with good intentions and abandon in week three.

Do I need a business account for the course?

For most of it, no. For the Insights lesson you do, because Insights simply does not exist on a personal account. Switch a few days early so there is some data to look at when you get there, otherwise you will be staring at an empty dashboard while the lesson explains a full one.

Does the course cover reels, stories and carousels?

Yes, and you build all of them: an image post, a carousel whose slides read as one continuous image, and a reel edited and posted, with stories covered for staying in front of the followers you already have. Those are build-along lessons rather than demonstrations, so you finish with real posts.

How do I grow on Instagram without paying for ads?

The course teaches ten organic strategies and then tells you to choose three you can sustain, which is the part most advice skips entirely. Ten strategies attempted for two weeks beats nothing, but three done consistently for a year beats both. After that comes Instagram SEO, which is the most underused free reach available.

Does the course explain how Instagram accounts make money?

One lesson covers four revenue routes and what each one asks of you before it pays anything. It is deliberately the smallest module, and there are no earnings claims anywhere in it, because nobody can honestly make them. What it does give you is a realistic view of what each route requires first.

Do I need design skills for this course?

No, and a free design account covers what you need. That is also the honest limit of what this course offers: three lessons show the moves rather than teaching design itself. If your posts keep coming out looking homemade, that is a design gap, and the Canva certificate in the graphic design school fixes it.

How long does the Instagram course take?

Six to eight hours if you build alongside, and that is the only version worth taking, since three lessons are things you make rather than watch. It is self-paced with no deadlines, and short enough that most people finish it across a couple of evenings with real posts to show for it.
